    Serious Beak Injury

I had a rescue pekin that lost the end of his bill in a raccoon attack when he was a little fluffy easter duckling. Keep the bill clean. Keep the duck in a quiet clean place until it heals. Campylobacter - treat or accept it as part of farm?

You can use an antibacterial on your flock. Ask your vet. If there is a bird specialist in your area that would be a good place to start. Or even a university that has a veterinarian school or agricultural school. Try Michigan State University.

Avian influenza found in South Carolina

For a commercial flock that will never be used for breeding anyway, if almost all of the birds would die from the disease, I think it can make sense to cull the whole flock. It saves human time & effort (do it all at once and get it over with), and depending on what method of culling is used, it...

    Vinyl shed conversion

If the wood is that soft then it probably won't take much for the saw to go through it. But if you really don't want to go that route you could try strapping the shed together with this type of fabric ratchet straps (not really tight, just enough to hold it together horizontally and...

Does cecal poop have some kind of territorial significance?

Yes, a forest can be a concern -often many predators. A water source can be additional predators (like mink), but you will learn the area as you are there. The electric fence will help. When we had a chain link fence -there was a gap. We were concerned about chicks getting out. So we...
