@tiffani day My silkies didn't start laying until about 7-8 months old. I have two, one of them lays almost every day. She takes maybe 1 day off a week. My other doesn't produce quite as often, she usually lays 3-4 per week. I can't tell any taste difference between their eggs and my other...- Peachickie

Wasn't planning on hatching anymore after Halloween, but my silkie has started laying and I'm curious to see what her & my sizzle rooster produce, so setting 4 more eggs today . @Scovy Momma feel you on the poor Serama hatch rate, I set 9, down to 2 now. I often go collect eggs in shorts with big pockets. Great for collecting some eggs...not so great when a 70 pound dog greets me with a bear hug on my way to put the eggs away. We've only had one or two pocket squishes so far, messy!- Peachickie
