    My quail are hatching. 8 so far with 2 more working to get out as we speak. Question: with newly hatched birds do i need to introduce them to water as i would with shipped chicks?

    i think so, but could be wrong. i know that almost everything nutrena makes for chickens, especially in a starter, is medicated.

    The higher protein is necessary for growth. Once maturity hits that excess protein can cause issues in the organs of the birds...i believe it is the liver that is most susceptable
