Coturnix Quail Basics- Information and Pictures Galore

Hey everyone,
I just got 15 jumbo coturnix quail, all hatched on Wednesday, well I had one all of yesterday look crippled lookin, and it died last night then I had one act the same when I woke up this mornin so I did him in. Can anyone tell me why they keep doing this?
Stages:
1) walks slowly low to the ground
2) has loss of balance keeps falling to its right and laying there
3) quits trying to get up and just closes its eyes and breathes slowly
4) x-x
Both of them went through that, although I checked last night when I buried the other one and they were all healthy running around quickly, eating and drinking.
Is there anyway this could be a disease? Are all of my chicks gonna have an expiration date very soon?

Get some probiotic in them and vitamin and electrolytes until someone can tell you what is wrong. I give mine a blend of these things when they first hatch to keep most things away and give them a good start. I use progel b but save a chick might be easier for you to get locally and quickly. I hope Simone can tell you soon.

My quail are hatching. 8 so far with 2 more working to get out as we speak.

Question: with newly hatched birds do i need to introduce them to water as i would with shipped chicks?

I came home to these guys and not sure if the are Button Quail or Cortnix Quail.
400

They will have their own hutch for sure. Depending on how well the hatch goes, some will be headed to the freezer but majority are going towards egg production. Love me some pickled quail eggs
