So I just bought a miniature quail farm consisting of three pens, two incubators, and ~45 quail! Any advice for starting a new business, Coturnix quail in general, or anything else related is welcome! I’m also going to pick it up later this week so any transportation advice would be fantastic! I would also really appreciate some name suggestions for my Instagram page where I’ll be documenting this journey and selling eggs/chicks. TIA!!

I never raised quail. Main reason is the housing portion. If I let them free-range with my chickens, they would escape, and fly off.
But I do have some ideas, and suggestions.
Lets start with the transportation portion. I do have a small trailer. So I would try to bring the lofts in one piece. Yes, it would take multiple trips, but then there is no setup construction required. Just place where you need it placed.
I am a Christian man, and at age of your grandfather, so I would need the help of your parents, or other relatives to help. Of course I would do it Free of charge,,, But I live 1,000 miles distance.
See if you can find a relative with a trailer,, or consider renting one. Trailer rental is cheapest option. You would also need someone knowledgeable to secure lofts during transport. If you do go that route, I can suggest what you need to safely transport those lofts.

At least from my viewing, 2 of those lofts are up pretty high. I would utilize the underneath to expand and build additional housing, should the need arise. Also can be a place to keep feed secure in a solid built enclosure.

You can sell the quail for dinner consumption, as well as sell the eggs.
There is something about quail eggs, that makes them ideal nutrition for children going thru Chemo. that are not able to eat chicken eggs. Just thought I put that out. ❤️

Ask some of your friends suggestions on naming your operation.

WISHING YOU BEST,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,:hugs

Good luck!
Quail eggs are quite popular for sushi and fancy restaurants. Our neighbor has a few coturnix quail, the roo has the cutest little trill-crow 🥰

Quantum Quail?
Quaint Quail?
I thought about Quaint Quail. I didn’t know that about Sushi Restaurants!

Check permitting/license requirements not only for keeping quail but also for selling eggs, chicks, and processed birds. Consider getting NPIP certified if selling across state lines, shipping eggs, or exhibiting your birds.

Open an Etsy store or sell on eBay, options include hatching eggs, eating eggs, blown out egg shells for crafting/decor, feathers for crafts/fly tiers, unique food products (pickled eggs, dried quail dog treats…)…

If you have a large Asian population nearby eggs and balut will be in demand.

Sell starter kits for ag classes, 4-h/ffa or open class fair exhibitors, etc, get a pop up brooder off Amazon, hatch half a dozen chicks, throw in a basic feed/water apparatus and a care guide and sell it as a package deal.

Sell birds as feeders to reptile enthusiasts or for gun dog training.

Go to poultry and livestock swaps with birds and hatching eggs.

Offer to do public speaking or demonstrations at fairs, 4-h meetings, ag classes, ffa events on raising quail (more for pr and potential business than getting paid).

Enjoy!
