Just wondering since more ppl see this thread if anyone can help me. My 6 week old coturnix rooster has had a puffed up back of the head and neck/chest area. I'm wondering if it's just him puffing his feathers up because he's in heat or what since he has started crowing this past week. He's been...
Okaaaay so....whole new range of problems. I finally had chicks hatch today but only 5 of the 23 made it due to being upside down and unable to get out of their shells (some were just yolks though). So these chicks have kind of become a nightmare they are pecking each other trying to kill each...
I emailed him no reply yet. I candled several and the entire egg was in shadow on all of them. I also put them up to my ear and could hear and feel movement and one even chirped! It's day 19 I don't understand why they will not hatch or even pip they all seem in good shape. This is so frustrating!
I'm just not sure how I would go about assisting them since they still haven't pipped. I will try candling one and see if it is upside down though. I'm going to see if I can figure out how to reach Robbie.
The only thing I can think of that may be causing difficulty hatching would be that I discovered on day 7 that I had them wrong side up in the incubator (pointy end up). As soon as I realized it I put them the right way do you think that would cause them to not be able to hatch? This is...
Well it is now the next morning and still no one has hatched they are just moving. I'm not sure what to do they still haven't pipped or anything can they not get out?!
I can't really tell what my humidity is because the incubator's hydrometer is always telling the wrong humidity (switches back and forth between percentages constantly). I have a little giant still air incubator and I've heard others have had a problem with this as well but I just do the best I...
All of them have been consistently moving since this afternoon after the first one started doing it but that's it. :( no one has even tried to pip yet. Just come out!!!!!!
Well I got unsure of myself and candled one and it looked good so I put it back in and it hasn't stopped moving since. That's the only one moving though
They were all looking great before they went into lock down I culled one that had never developed at all.I've even seen tiny movements from different ones the past day or two. I'm curious what the exact days are that everyone's have hatched and if I can still have hope for them
