Does it matter about them being fertile? Or is it just certain people's beliefs / preferences? My eggs are likely fertile, but I eat them anyway!

I got an extra feeder and waterer so there is food and water available up inside and out in the run. They are getting a bit more adventurous the more they are in there.

Id get the higher protein feed for your birds. Once they settle in, you will probably be able to tell what you have! I moved my birds outside last week and I were getting eggs at first, but now they have stopped laying. I'm assuming it's because they are getting less light, but I moved them...

how much light are your quail getting? Are they stressed?

I had a go at pickling, but used apple cider vinegar by mistake! Blech. Made a frittata last night with about 20 eggs. Just going to have to get into the habit of using them!

in the end I couldn't wring their necks. I bopped on the head and cut with the scissors. I'm not planning on processing any more... even though they were delicious...

I don't think I enjoyed them much because of all the things I saw yesterday. For dark meat, they did taste good. I don't know if I will do it again... might just stick with the eggs. They were brilliant!

I may have done this by wrapping it in smoked bacon!
