update
all dead, I guess I will take into account all of the very helpful information you all have given me and I will try again.
1 brown chick had a broken yolk and everything was stained yellow
1 brown chick had 3/4 absorbed the yolk
1 yellow chick 1/2 absorbed the yolk
1 yellow chick 3/4...
No cheering yet, I did do the water float test last night and 3 out of 4 wobbled like crazy while the other 1 wobbled a bit.
Still trying to be very patient and just waiting for something
Looking at photo it says day 25 but that is when we set it and worked with the temp and humidity, we put eggs in 1 or 2 days later, yes counted first day as day 0.
Thank you for al your advice I really appreciate it, last question
How many more days should I give them before I give up? they can't be in there forever!
Thanks again
we have 5 eggs left, should I do the float test?? Or wait?
Don't know what breed of chicken as they were given to us from a chicken farmer friend so we could have a go.
I will give it a go with the lamp, I can't see movement in the cracked egg now, does this mean I have killed it or is it maybe sleeping or something??
Please let me not have killed it
My next question is: if my eggs are just delayed then is there anyway of knowing for how many days delayed or...
Not sure how to get the temp up more, we have had to put a blanket oven incubator to even get to this temp. Not sure if true or not but I did read that temp isn't as important now at this late stage, more important is the humidity? I dont know? Now I'm losing faith that they will hatch at all.:(...
Yes, incubator has an internal fan, we also have a thermometer inside the incubator reading at about 95 Fahrenheit, we try to keep the thermometer on the machine at 37 Celsius and up, which I think is about 97 Fahrenheit.
Humidity right now is sitting at about 67.
Hope this helps
Not sure what brand of incubator it is but we did have a temp drop during the night about a week ago, not heaps but a few degrees.
The egg with broken shell is not bleeding and no part of membrane is damaged.
Both humidity and temp are correct other than the drop a week ago.
Egg cell is right...
Air cells are drawing down, what does that mean?
I can still see movement in the broken egg, just wondering if because the air cell is broken will everything still be ok with chick when it pips through the membrane?
Thank you for replying!
