we have 5 eggs left, should I do the float test?? Or wait?
Don't know what breed of chicken as they were given to us from a chicken farmer friend so we could have a go.

Sorry to hear about your past few days. Its really stressfull, specially when its our 1st time.

One thing you should of done was post a pic of your incubator, that was people here could help you out better.


Next thing you should do is water candle it.Warm water. And good luck.

I would keep them in until they quit, or the end of day 25. You counted the day you set them as day 0 right?

Check them tomorrow afternoon, by candling. If alive - pop them back in the bator. If no movement, water candle. If no movement, then you have to decide whether to shut off the incubator and walk away, or slowly open the air cell of one to see what is going on.

It's a tough call at that point.

Looking at photo it says day 25 but that is when we set it and worked with the temp and humidity, we put eggs in 1 or 2 days later, yes counted first day as day 0.

Nice. Almost like mine. Does you have a big space to take the piece of plastic on the floor? Those squares things.Sorry dont no the correct name.

Mine had a big space to put our finger in ad take it out. One chick got its head there and died. Makesure its covered.
Temperature has to be at 38. Maybe that was your problem

The bumpy rubber shelf liner stuff works really well, too. I use it for hatching.
