Hey! I have two ducks to give away if picked up locally or I might be willing to meet if someone has older chicks to trade. ' They are approx. 6 weeks. One is a Pekin, one is a Mallard. I think both are males, but this is my first duck experience and I could be wrong. I love the little buggers...

Quote: I paid $4 for it so I'd be fine getting that back. He's a sweet chick and he's not hatchery stock...although one of his toe nails is crooked. I seriously can't describe how disappointed I was to see that comb. I love Polish. I would have an entire flock of them if I could find some...

Quote: Are you closer to Lexington? I have no idea when I'll be back that way but I'd be willing to bring him with me the next time I come in. He's the only Buff that the breeder hatched that time and I was SO hopeful he would be a pullet. *Sigh* I wish I could keep roos. He's only 6 weeks so...

Quote: How old are they? Barred rocks are pretty easy...as they feather out, the cockerels will be lighter than the pullets. Cochin cockerels should have a redder comb and more developed wattles than a pullet and you may as well wait on the Polish. They are difficult to sex. Do you have any...

Connie's birds were all so well taken care of and she was very patient with us. She has some gorgeous roosters. If I were able I'd be buying breeding pairs from her! I wish she'd had more chicks when we were there...but that could have been dangerous. I think we bought two of almost everything...

Mojo Chick'n : Quote: Where is the crack - towards the end of the beak or towards the face? The end of the beak will grow out, probably and then you can trim off the broken area. If it is towards the face more, if it is a small enough crack, I would consider putting super glue on it, IF...

Quote: I took mine some warm oatmeal this morning and they wouldn't touch it! I've been changing their water every few hours as the little ball on the rabbit waterer keeps getting frozen in place. My husband actually used one of my good dish towels last night to wrap around the waterer and...

I'm about 2 1/2 hours from Lexington, in Pikeville. My husband's family lives there so we go there way too often and I always browse their Craigslist. I need a Craigslist pets and farm and garden intervention in a bad way.

Quote: I'm not sure you can disinfect for a virus. At least not in a chicken run. Bacteria maybe. We are all exposed to bacteria, fungus, amobeia, viruses all the time and most are harmless unless we are under a large amount of stress. Our own gut is full of bacteria to the point that...
