    So, a few more weeks into it, and I'm pleased to say that my RIR hens are coming around. They will let me pick them up and hold them now. Well, 2 of them will, anyway. The 3rd one simply does not like me and wants nothing to do with me, lol.

    I knew it would be a trade-off when I chose adult hens. I just really don't have a good place to set up a brooder right now. And I'm a little bit impatient. Plus, if you buy chicks from Rural King or Tractor Supply, you have to buy at least 6, and that's more than I need or have room for here...

    Yeah, they seem to have a pretty good temperament for the most part. Apparently, my birds are working in shifts. I have one that lays in the morning, one lays in the afternoon, and one in the evening.

    Yep, they are definitely curious. And opinionated. Mine are a year old and I'm not sure how much they were handled up til now, but they don't seem to like it when I invade their space :).
