Agree with posting a thread. Normally you want to wait at least a month or two before trying to hatch any eggs from a new layer to make sure that everything is working properly and the eggs have reached normal size. 😊

10/11. Making room in my coop for some new breeds, sold two of my layers today coincidentally after they laid eggs. Went to a lovely couple who keep hens for pets and eggs. Sorry to see them go, but happy they will be well cared for. 😊

5 out of 11 yesterday, too early still for today. All 5 were laid before 9 am, a first. Normally they lay spread throughout the day. Likely a random event, but cool anyway! 😊

8 eggs from 11 chickens. Three of them are getting over being broody. The last new layer today, a blue laced red Wyandotte who laid an egg about the size of the silkie eggs (34 g).
7 eggs today including one new layer, second "bobblehead" pullet, white capped black polish. 34 grams. Her sister started about 3 weeks ago and is still in the 26-28 gram range. Even the silkies have bigger eggs!

Three out of eight possible. Two are broody, one is getting over being broody and the others don’t lay every day. Though did get my Birchen Marans first egg today! 32 weeks and one day old today. 64g, huge for a first egg!😊
