Yes! One of my new girls has chosen a previously unused corner on the floor, and then scratches around next to it. The other day I unearthed 3 of her eggs under a pile of shavings. Now they stand around laughing at me, as each morning I sift thru all the bedding in the corners, just in case...
Progress! 5 (including a smashed shell-less). Maybe it's the extra light from the heat lamp on all last week to combat the minus double digit cold spell?
But the 5-month-olds are starting - so exciting! :wee
Two. A 96g triple yolk (my first) and a peewee. Between winter hours, the past week's negative double digits, girls who took the winter off and babies coming of age, I'm just so confused about who's laying what!!! :barnie
2.
Plus a baby egg, which is the wrong color, which, darn it all, proves neither mom nor dad have 2 blue egg genes. I sure hope at least one of her sisters inherited the blue gene!
Plus a broken one that I just can't spare right now!
2. Plus 3 I found buried in the corner. One girl's started laying on the floor, and they spend so much time inside piling the bedding up in the corners that they completely buried them. Just happy to have the eggs at this point and super glad they didn't freeze!
One. Again. I'm going to have to buy eggs! :hit
A little worried that I got a shell-less egg last week, that I was so sure was a new pullet, but I haven't had anything from her since...
Wow - your welsummer lays as dark as my cuckoo marans!
Although I'm just grateful she's laying again. 2/8 today. My isas were such troopers up until about xmas...
