OHio ~ Come on Buckeyes, let me know your out there!

That is terrible! I feel so bad for you. At least you trapped one, and there's a good chance you'll trap the other soon. If you haven't already, you might want to let your mom know that in Ohio, it's illegal to relocate raccoons. They have to either be released or disposed of ON your property...

OHio ~ Come on Buckeyes, let me know your out there!

Welcome, Alex! I'm glad to have you on here again. I'm sorry I missed your first question. :-( I'll have to look back over the thread and find it. As for your second question, I unfortunately do not have any experience with rescuing chickens or rescue organizations that offer them. Depending...

Congratulations, @Maplemaam! New chicks are a true joy and worth celebrating. :-) I have gotten many, MANY chicks from Meyer...every one of them healthy and beautiful. Their overhatch bins are dangerously addicting and WELL worth your time. ;-) Enjoy your precious new fuzzballs, and please share...

This is inspiring! Imagine how much better this world would be if every chicken keeper donated extra eggs to people in need. Giving them is just plain fun, PLUS, you know you're feeding people eggs that are infinitely superior to the ones in the store.

OHio ~ Come on Buckeyes, let me know your out there!

We keep our chickens and ducks in the same coop and it works just fine. The ducks tend to be very clique-ish and keep to themselves. They don't like the chickens, and they don't like us, either. :-) x2 on not raising chicks and ducklings together. Ducklings, though cute, are about the messiest...

OHio ~ Come on Buckeyes, let me know your out there!

Thank you for the input on egg prices. I do feed organic, but I never claim my eggs are organic due to my chickens foraging in the surrounding fields and gobbling up the occasional non-organic table scraps. I checked egg prices in Kroger last night and was horrified. Don't think any of the...

OHio ~ Come on Buckeyes, let me know your out there!

I'm thinking about selling eggs from my home and could use some input on pricing. Our chickens are fed organic feed and spend their days in a huge enclosed pasture when they're not out free ranging. We have just about every egg color imaginable. I've heard of people in the area charging anywhere...

Brinkhaven Acres near Wellington has Serama hatching eggs. I just bought some day-old Isbars from them.

Minihorse, just out of curiosity, how much are you asking for your pair of svart honas?

Greetings from Wyandot County in NW Ohio! From what I can tell, lots of Ohioans keep chickens these days. It's nice to meet all of you.
