I have a Buckeye hen that I would like to sell. She is 2 years old, and while I like the breed I get quite annoyed at their broodiness. I have a pair of them left from the eggs I bought from Buckeye Dave (www.buckeyedave.com) and I am going to keep one and sell the other so I only have to deal...

Hi Chemguy! I am originally from Springfield, and my parents still live there- sounds like they are located close to you. I can't help you on where to get your supplies, but I am sure there are plenty of feed stores close to you. Have fun building your flock!

Meyer Hatchery in Polk, Ohio has Buff Orpington eggs. (Link goes to the ordering page for them.)
I am in Columbus and I *really* want two Buff Orpington pullets to add to my flock--but I need them already started. Let me know if you'd like to work something out.

I will do that...
I am getting ready to put some eggs in the incubator in a few weeks and I would like to find some buff orpington eggs to throw in there as well. Does anyone local have any they could ship? I could also pick up if you are not far- I am in NW Delaware County right between Delaware, Marsyville...

Here is an article from the Dispatch about Bexley trying to pass an initiative this past fall (mentions that Grandview and Worthington cannot keep...
Hi guys,
I thought that Columbus required a permit to legally keep chickens. I am sure there is a lot of "don't ask don't tell", but I have a friend in Clintonville that has to be very hush-hush about it until she gets her permit, and I read an article in the Dispatch awhile ago about backyard...
Thanks for this. I just entered the city of Delaware, OH, which sadly, does not allow chickens. I know people in the city who do have birds though, and the code for fowl hasn't been revised since 1973.

Just an update- I am gettting feed from Ed again. It depends on how much supply he has on hand, and also how much time he has to grind. It is a side, side business for him. I am thankful to be able to get it again though, it is superior to any feed I have tried IMO. For the year...
Do any of you central-ohio folks know where I can buy food-grade diatomaceous earth locally? A friend of mine gave me some that she bought at the Country Variety Store in Bellefountaine, but it is nearly an hour drive for me to get there. Any places in the Delaware, Marysville, Marion, or...

I'm in Centerburg(Geographic center of Ohio) in Knox County. Getting BLR Wyandottes - breeders, not hatchery within the next couple weeks - so excited!

You lucky duck! I bet you buy Ed Snavely's (Curly Tail Organic Farm) awesome organic feed! We used to get our feed from him until last year when he stopped selling to those outside of Knox. It was the best feed too, I really miss it.
Welcome!
