You can give her a bath, just keep her warm, and blow-dry afterward. I would recommend some permethrin spray for the bugs. Usually a couple of applications will kill them all. Make sure they haven't invaded her skin anywhere. I'd spray with permethrin first, wait a day, then do a good bath...

if it weren't eating at all, it would be dead by now. I would wager she was using low quality feed, or even scratch or something like that. It probably doesn't know what good food is! Lol it'll learn. :fl

The silkie looks rough, but it could also just be at that awkward stage of growth. I have an orp that looks pretty pitiful, but it will eventually be gorgeous. A little TLC will go a long way, I think she will be ok. :)

I'd get 2 silkie chicks, so they could go off together with your other chickens, when the duckling is ready to be with mom and dad. :hu

That's a tough one. I think without another duckling, I'd try the chicks. Was trying to imagine if i gave my calls a baby duckling, I really don't know how they would treat a little loner. Probably run from it lol! I think you would have better luck integrating the duckling in with the mom and...

Awww :love She will preen most of that off in no time. You can gently bathe with dawn if it bothers you, but be sure to dry her very well. Before washing though, try rubbing with a terry towel. I've also used an old toothbrush, dry or wet.

I think she will be out before then :D I did just happen to think about the other end. From where that membrane was exposed, it could be stuck to her inside there. So pay careful attention when she does push oit. If that end of the membrane is stuck to her bottom side, don't let her yank it off...
