I have not plugged in the heated dog bowl, but have the jug( with Salt water in it) in the bowl. Been under 20 degrees out and it is not frozen. Some slush on top but hens peck it . This is inside the coop, for those that don't have electric or want to not have a cord. Once it gets colder you...- tigger19687

I am so sorry, I just read this :( SO GLAD that the chickens are ok ! And even better that you have an extra coop ! I think they will be so lucky to be in a garage for the Winter ;) I think we all are going to be very worried about our water heaters this year. I have the heated dog bowl but...- tigger19687
