Hey Ga Folks - I need to ’refresh‘ my flock and would like to do an order from Murray McMurray so I can get the exact birds I want. I only need about 8 birds and the min order to get free shipping is 25.

Predator Question: We had something knock over our rabbit hutch (about 100lbs), push thru the hardware cloth on the bottom and take the rabbit. The hutch has been there for 3 years. This is cobb county. Any ideas what sort of predator could do this? My first thought was a few coyotes pushed...
Anyone looking for a good broody hen? I have the queen of them that i'm looking to sell.
Background:
I crossed a FBCM roo over an easter egger trying to get some olive eggers - got 2 hens. One is an olive egger (great layer). The other (this one) lays dark brown eggs (also a very...
That would be helpful info :)
I'm in mableton - west side of atlanta. btw - the chicks are very healthy - came from great stock on both sides. Here is a link to my craigslist ad w/ some photos (that I just had to repost :().

I have 3 Leghorn Chicks remaining from my 4/4 hatch. I had someone on craigslist that was supposed to come by this AM and buy the 3 but flaked out - frustrating part is the person that bought the rest wanted all of them but I held them back for the other buyer. Anyway - they're going to be...
I had a broody hen that hatched eggs last week. She ended up with 1 chick (2 made it but one got pecked by another hen - so down to 1). With only 1 chick - i'd rather not mess with getting chick food to it. They are mixed with the rest of our flock (dozen hens and a roo) - so any chick food...
Amazon.com does charge sales tax in Georgia. The difference is that the purchase you referenced was probably a 3rd party selling on amazon.com. I believe Amazon.com reached a deal w/ Georgia awhile back to begin to collect sales tax. The smaller vendors that sell on amazon.com and ebay were...
LOL - i'm in the same boat. I have 1 FBCM who lays beautiful eggs - but sometimes she puts (what looks like) a spec of the dark coating that goes on the outside of the shell on the inside. I'd really like to figure out how to filter those eggs out for the one's that I sell. I don't mind it...
Does candling help at all with really dark eggs (Maran)? You can see spots in white and lite brown - but you can't see anything in the really dark ones.
Just curious.
The Leghorns cockerels are usually pretty easy to sex at an early age - (and hard to sell) - so you can have a couple depending on how many I end up with. I'm going to sell some of the purebred's at hatch but plan to keep a few - so i'll probably end up w/ a few cockerels.
Where are you in...
@Junglefowlboss - Good to have someone else in Mableton - I have several chicks (some hatched - some due next week) - If you're interested in chicks you're welcome to one of the cockerels once I can sex them. They are mostly pearl white leghorns and a few either leghorn/RHR or leghorn/black...
Update / Venting on my broodie invasion.
Over the past 2.5 weeks 5 of my 12 hens have been or are broodie. Thus far: I've given 1 eggs to hatch. Broken 2 (one of which is laying again). The remaining 2 are separated off in my open juvenile pen (per @PapaChaz suggestion). They are both...
Good suggestion - have you tried putting multiple together in a separate pen? I have my outdoor pen that I use for babies that I could put the broodies in. Question would be if there are 4 do they still have enough of their flock to feel like they are not separated???
Broodie Help - I have 4 of my 12 girls broodie. I had two broodie 2 weeks back - broke one and the other I gave eggs to hatch. Came back in town from a trip and found out I have 3 others (4 counting the one w/ eggs). Ugh...
Anyway - i'm keeping one of them in broodie jail (a separate pen w/...
The Leghorn rooster is great. He seems to love his new flock (took him all of 2 minutes after we put him in to start mating the girls :). The girls have taken right to him as well.
Best behaved rooster we have had.
