NPIP doesn't mean a flock is MG negative, either.
I am just going to keep culling and starting over until I can get a clean, disease free flock that I can isolate from the world!

Just a reminder to all the GA folks to be CAREFUL where you get your birds. A while back, I bought some pullets and a roo that looked fine... until I got them home. Within days, they had swollen eyes and were dropping like flies. I had exposed my flock to MG... and had to cull everyone...
I am just trying to figure out what she has and when I could get them... but the poor girl is SWAMPED lately! I was able to get in touch with her after my post... so I'm hoping it works out! My 4 kids and I could really use a homeschool field trip!
(actually... I have heard it's awesome out...
I think I might be able to get some from bargain.... (*crossing fingers*)... but, I'm pm'ing you!

I am in Jackson,ga and could set them for you. We split the chicks between us. I also have some BCM hens over a black birchen rooster. These will produce 50% BCM and 50%...
Hi!
If anyone has any maran chicks in the 'bator (or could set some for me), I am looking for some anywhere relatively near Fayetteville! I am looking for blue copper marans preferably, and splash... and a few black copper, too. I'd really like to find them all from one place... and from a...
Hi Nancy!
I know you are most likely very very busy, but I was wondering if you could contact me about chicks/guinea keets? I am trying to figure out what I'm getting so I can make plans... and I have a couple questions for you as I figure out what to get from you!
Thanks!
Holly
The Doc at the Ga poultry lab was AWESOME. I mean, AWESOME! I am well aware that we all must have learning experiences along the way-- I don't think many people are gung-ho strong on biosecurity until they have something like this happen. So, I am chalking this up to "live and learn". What...
No, it's a risk to buy shipped eggs, and I know that. I really think it's the heat. I mean, it's 95+ OUTSIDE those trucks.
I don't want to wait until Spring to buy chicks, I want to have layers in the Spring. *sigh* If I can find some from a safe flock I will drive and get them. Here's...
I have a sob story, and a request...
I made a HUGE mistake this season. I purchased young black copper maran pullets from someone I didn't know or have recommendations from. It really wasn't his fault, but we realized after a while that they were sick. We had the poultry lab come out and it...
Great names!
I'm using a hovabator with a fan. It turns out, it was running too low on humidity, so I raised it to 35%. I hope to keep it at about 35% until lockdown.
We lost our entire flock to predators and MG this year, so I am having to start COMPLETELY over. With no funds. Our...
Our girls have definitely started slacking off in all this heat.
I am going to try a dry hatch to see if that helps my rate this go 'round. Surely the humidity has to be high enough at just room humidity?? Our house is about 50%. Thoughts? What do you do in the summer in Ga for incubation?
This is probably a long shot, but... If you know of anyone in the Fayette County area who may be interested in a hybrid homeschool group for 3rd/4th grade, pass this along! www.inmanhybridschool.blogspot.com.
Is anyone else having horrible luck lately with hatches?? I started out with...
I have my solution!! We're making a $24 homemade incubator from a styrofoam cooler. I'm really excited! No need for a turner, we're just using it for lockdown/hatching!
Now, a crappy situation just turned exciting, as I have a whole new bator to play with!
She shipped today! They are going to arrive Monday. NOT the plan...
I'll quickly hand turn them while the others are in lock down... Do you think the 3 days of higher humidity will be a big problem???
