I think crows and ravens have regional differences. Ours seem to have enough food even in the winter. Although they roost just yards from our house in 100+ ft white pines they never bother any of the free ranging poultry. They never even approach any of the bird feeders, or the compost...

I love Crows! I had a pet one as a kid. They patrol your area well and are the first to run off a hawk. I have heard of them molesting poultry, but we have never had any problem here, and I free range. I think, perhaps they have ample food here.
