I disagree. I think guests should be able to see the genetics calculator but have limited use. In order to get full use of the genetics calculator a person has to have a BYC account.
Crests seem to be a dominant gene as seen in many Silkie crosses. I believe that the gene for silkied feathers isn’t entirely recessive as the feathers of Silkie cross chickens aren’t structured the same as normal chicken feathers. I will try to get a good picture of a feather as an example from...
Wouldn’t it be easier to use a generic chicken template for the cock and hen and just have all the color varieties on the same template? You could always have a side bar saying that pea and rose combs are dominant to single combs and that feathered legs are recessive etc. :oops:
