Apparently it uses a combination of everything. This is for an iPhone but the other results basically said the same thing. So it does use some GPS but also the tower and lots of other stuff.

That's very true! I think kiki was meaning the actual phone software? Which I usually update. Although browser version definitely needs to be updated too but I think it does that automatically?? Maybe not but I usually always do the updates for various apps in the Play Store too. I'm using...

I don't think Kiki was trying to be elitist, just trying to be helpful and I never would have thought of the old software thing but I do think Ron has a point that if it was a software issue, it wouldn't only be on BYC or surely there would be other issues with the phone besides just websites...
