I must be a terrible incubator person! I put em in the bator amd keep an eye on temp a humidity. Don’t candle em till lockdown. At lockdown throw out the clears and wait till they hatch or don’t.:confused::confused::confused:
@KikisGirls I am in the same boat as you. Pretty sure I set a bunch of eggs that weren’t fertile. Just like yours mine came from hens that had just started laying. I do have 3 that appear to be fertile and they were the last ones hatched before I started the incubator.
So a friend and I have been arguing about how to figure hatch rates. I figure based on the number of eggs in the bator on day one. He bases it of the number that go into lock down. So naturally he always has better rates than I do. So who is right?
How many did you set? I am at exactly 50% right now with mine. I think I was gonna do better but came home today and humidity had dropped to 40. I know two shrink wrapped for sure haven’t had a chance to check the others yet.
My older quail started laying finally. Had four eggs last night. Hopefully they keep it up and I can set some when you do!
How long can eggs sit at room temp before you put the in the bator?
Started with 55 and 36 went into lockdown. 3 have hatched so far on day 16. I would like to set some more but I can’t keep up building pens and what not.
