It will be awhile - lol I think "she" is a he because of the rapid growth - This one was hatched August 4th.
Here is the momma;
and here is the daddy: (he just molted this fall)
he did look like this:
Funny heartwarming story-
Notice the ducklings are different ages in the 2 photos below? I had a broodie that I didn't know about (see thread here: https://www.backyardchickens.com/forum/viewtopic.php?id=557822) Well something happened to her and 1 of her ducklings, leaving an orphan. I tried...
the only surviving duckling right now. it had a brother/sister and it drowned (yes a duck drowned) and there was another baby hatched out early from another nest, but it was dead the first time I saw it, I don't know what happened. We are still waiting on another hatch.

lol nevermind... I have 2 broodies and 1 that is fixing to go broody I think. I just had to complain to get them to go broody! Ain't that the way it always goes?? This one is probably sitting on 20 eggs or more!!
is there any way to tell how old a duck is?
My 9 girls all lay eggs like crazy but never have went broody. I don't know how old there were when we bought them a few months ago and was wondering if there are any ways to help determining age?
Oh I can't wait to have babies!
I saw some action going on yesterday...so I have my *fingers crossed* that we will soon have some spring babies...possibly Easter babies!
Just bought these yesterday. I am new to ducks but we have lots of chickens and rabbits. I love all animals.
I don't know how old they are or anything. All I know is that I have 9 hens and 1 drake.
