Ok, so as you can see i have more.........This time no crushing of eggs, no rush to the incubator etc.
The biggest surpeise is these three above. I have only ever hatched out yellow ducklings. Dad is white and mum is either white or grey/blue white ( they shared nests at the begining) They were...
There was lots of room around the other two nests, its only this third one i am a bit worried about. They do seem to like to make very large nests compared to the mallards. Its not easy trying to make sure they all arrive safely but it sure is fun when they are all running around in a little...
Well here are my long awaited photos of our new little Muscovy's. I did wonder if they would ever arrive. In them building their nests i found out that we had rats as eggs were going missing. just didn´t realise how many. this is still an ongoing problem but they are taking the bait every night...
One of my muscovy´s has been busy building a nest and hiding her eggs in it. It is totally full to the brim and then when i went down this morning i see one of my mallards has decided to steal it. My poor muscovy was quite stressed at first but has now found a new site. lol Not long and i will...
Oh no, i hope mine are not just fooling me..............i was hoping that after having 5 females that at least one would go broody on me. finger crossed for both you and me with our lovely ladies. x
Wow, she looks just like some of mine !! lurrrrrrvley
Today i noticed that in the new area that the ducks have been laying there were two eggs covered up with the shavings and quite a few feathers around................i am guessing very soon i am going to be having a broody too. So excited as...
Super excited today as i have a goose that has gone broody.
I have placed 11 Muscovy eggs under her and two of her own eggs.
I just can´t wait to meet and show you all some pictures. Going to have to be patient and that's hard. lol I bought my first Muscovy's last year from a farm shop and...
I had never heard of angel wing. I looked on line for sticking out wings and found nothing. Thankyou for letting me know. I just thought she was disabled. I feel guilty now
Here are my little ones all grown up. I last posted pictures back in Spring of last year when they were still little yellow ducklings.
This poor little girl below has deformed wings, however she manages all the same.
One of our slightly coloured ones.
Finally our big dirty looking male...
Well i was wrong about going broody as two of mine are now and also the new little ones that i got did turn out to be moscovies, look at the photos i put up just today. i have since bought another five that are turning out to be the same but with other colours ( they look like they have some...
I think there beaks are all wrong to be moscovy or even half breed, infact i heard that its difficult to get muscovies to breed with mallards, i might be wrong mind, whatever they are they are lovely !!!!
