I have had 2 crosses make olive eggs with spots. First were my Wellie x Am cross. (First pic) and my Isbar x FBCM cross. (Second pic). The spots on the eggs are darker and more plentiful at the beginning of the laying cycle and then taper off the longer the laying cycle. The spots do not happen...- spunkychickenmomma

I am going to put my F1 Isbar OE crosses back in with my marans this weekend so hopefully by the end of summer I can post pics of the results from the cross. I am still up in the air on whether I am going to put my CL/Marans OE crosses back in with my Marans rooster or in in with my Isbar...- spunkychickenmomma

I tried to get some better pics today of my Isbar olive egger pullets. Cold and windy so not much cooperation. LOL The bottom pic is of my new Isbar cockerel "Chrome" I got Monday. Hoping to get pretty babies and nice olive eggs out of some cross bredding with him.- spunkychickenmomma

I have had a couple of purple eggs pop up every now and then. They have always come from a dark laying hen that had extra bloom on the egg. Will be this way a couple of days when it happens, then back to the normal dark brown egg.- spunkychickenmomma

It's been a few months since I took pics, but basically the Isbar cross pullets look the same now just have more defined lacing and a touch of gold in their necks and of course are more filled out in the body. Yes they are F1. The darkest olive are the results of an Isbar roo over FBCM hens and the others are a cross of a Cream Legbar roo over FBCM hens. If I would have only known that both of these roosters would meet their demise shortly after these eggs were collected, I definitely would have set...- spunkychickenmomma

All but 2 of my F1 Olive Eggers are now laying. Very happy with the results! Second pic is a test hatch in my styrofoam bator, mainly banty naked necks. Very happy with my Marans egg color as well. @ronott1 , my patience has finally paid off! One of my Isbar x FBCM pullet laid her first eggs over the past couple of days. Decent olive color with spots.
