a green egg that you know the parents of and a dark brown egg can make a wonderful olive egger though you have the straight comb issue.

So pretty much the F1 is it...high percentage of olive eggs in F1 with a diminishing return on F2 and above?

you would have to hatch and wait to lay.
I am unsure of the percentage of first cross olive egg laying though. I am not familiar enough with the isbar.
nicalandia would know better or someone that does this cross.

I am going to put my F1 Isbar OE crosses back in with my marans this weekend so hopefully by the end of summer I can post pics of the results from the cross. I am still up in the air on whether I am going to put my CL/Marans OE crosses back in with my Marans rooster or in in with my Isbar rooster. @nicalandia what kind off egg color can I expect if I put them in with the Isbar roo?

My other OE laid her first egg today! Both are laying now. It is speckled. Wonder if it will stay that way? The pics never turn out like real life. They look more green in person.
