What breed lays a very light brown or cream egg with speckles? Crossing it with a blue egg layer might be interesting.

any Brown egger can lay brown with specs, but I think it could be breed for.. just hatch eggs from those speckles eggs

Welsummers are normally good speckled layers. (At least both of mine are.) Egg color isn't as dark as a good Marans, but it's decent!

would the Creme Legbar Cock bird over a Silver Ameraucana hen work in a similar fashion to the Crele Penedesenca x Silver Ameraucana except with the blue egg as opposed to the olive?

My understanding of the above post was Welsummer x BW Ameraucana and Welsummer x blue Isbar (so adding brown to blue/green, as opposed to reverting back to blue).

I did try that though. I have an olive egger in with a lavender Ameraucana and crossed those. The hen lays a bright light green. Not stunning, but another color to add to the basket. The hen is really sweet and friendly.
