If she is chocolate, is there a way she could have got the gene from her mother (who could have been the lavender splash duck)? I still don't exactly understand how sex linked genes works. Another photo because why not! -

Now for another duckling colour question! I had one little duck hatch out out of my eggs so far. Her father was a blue bibbed call and mother was either a pure white SQ call or lavender splash - don't know exactly who's eggs we collected. She looks to be blue bibbed but she's much different... -

I said I'd update you on how they turned out, and here I am! Since I lost Angel, my black bibbed, I can only show you my two blue bibbed but they turned out quite cute in my opinion. I'm expecting more ducklings that one of these ducks fathered so I'll be posting pictures of them really soon! -

Thank you all for such prompt replies! I really appreciate the input. I googled more and it looks like blue bibbed/black bibbed probably is the case. I was hoping for a mallard type of pattern after hearing the possible parent types but I guess you never know with eggs! I'll love them to death... -
