I just can't afford to entirely re-build it at the moment. When the frame is rotting & roof leaking, it needs more than we can do right now. It is on the to-do list to get it dry at least, to keep it from further deterioration!
An update on this post. The termites, leaks and tree limbs falling on this building all winter changed my mind about having any living things that I care about in it!! I have a new plan, portable tractor house.
Yes, we are running the swamp cooler today, it is 85degrees and our weather thingy reads 17% humidity. The AC rarely runs, maybe 10 days or so last year.
We are out of the desert here in Prescott. It rarely goes above 100, and always cools down nice at night even in the summer. It is a nice little patch of high altitude zone 7 -- people from Phoenix come here in the summer for vacation. Some older homes don't even have air conditioning!
The metal siding is not in the best shape, I might just replace these completely with outdoor plywood below and hardware cloth above on the rusty panels. You can see daylight through the old nail holes and rusted through places.
