Our heat finally broke.The funny think is today temp high was 79, and by dinner time droped to 60. Now ya need a Jacket!!!! Tell me that's not messed up. From 100's to 60's in 24 hrs. Kinda spooky :| The rest of the week temps are going to be in the mid to upper 80's. I'll take it. I hope...- Gracefulspice

Sorry to read about your coop damage. At least they got more venaltion, so mabey they feel better anyways. Depending on the damage maybe you can throw some tarps over it to help protect from the rain? It's supposed to calm down here today too, but not till this evening. I just got home and all my hens are doing well. I just dumped 10 gallons of hose water on the ground so they can traump through it. Another hen is in the nest box laying on the ice. I'm so glad she's finally using it. It's the Australorp. I have always put ice in the water on real hot days...- Gracefulspice

Heat Warning Today, 99 in the Shade
I did all I could think of to help keep my chickens cool today. They are calling for a day with temps of 99 in the shade. Heat index of 106. I put ice, and electrolites, in their water, laid out frozen 2 liter bottles, bags of ice cubes and freeze packs. About 5 in all. I even took my daughters...- Gracefulspice
