First off, DE will not kill mites easily. You need Poultry Dust. Give them a good dust bath in it twice - one week between dusts (Day 1 and Day 8 to kill hatchlings) and put it all over the coop and roosts too. Hopefully without the mite infestation, they'll be able to beat the respiratory...
