It’s really sad how common that is. So many people have no idea the little guy has MBD or blocked femoral pores or a some other issue. Everyone recommends them for noobs for some reason but I think they take a bit of forward planning. Bless you for taking them on and having more know how than...
I'm sure you're aware they could easily get lost or hurt if you don't know where they are and when they are letting themselves out. It's not a personal attack, just saying all it takes is you stepping on them by accident or them getting into somewhere they can't get back out of.
I love the Muppet show. I love beardies too, I'm just sad they often end up in bad shape because pet store staff tell everyone how 'easy' they are; I'm sure they're in good hands with your friend though!
Maybe you could do a textured glaze? I’m sure there’s ones you could perhaps stipple in on a thick application? Or would it just all smooth out in the firing process? I haven’t touched ceramic since I was in school
You might want to seal that with glaze or some other coating because clay is porous. It will take on water and harbour bacteria. It looks super neat, though! Perhaps you could put it in the oven to sterilise like you would with a real log after firing but I don't know if it would damage the clay...
Lololol that would be funny, I admit they might be at but disappointed I suppose but you have a stronger case if you have, like, a cassowary chasing people like a velociraptor 🤣🤣 When my buttons do the weird low crow and strut about I’m like aww, teeny tiny dinos...
I suppose in a way the...
I just figured you have chickens or something too if you’re on this forum?
Aspen is more convenient though it sticks to everything lol. What’s your heating setup?
You have birds, right? They count! 😂
About the substrate, I would err on the side of caution and say yes. Usually heat treatment helps kill off any insects/mice, fungal spores, bacteria and destroys any volatile oils in the wood. Cypress mulch is /notorious/ for being full of mites.
Sounds like it is designed to heat up objects like rocks close to it rather than heating up itself and just the air around it from the sound of it? Never heard of them but hazard a guess they might use long wave infra red like those patio heaters?
Almost looks like you crossed a BP with a garter snake!
We have a BP, a corn snake and and egg eating snake.
My button quail were hatched and brooded/live in a wooden 2ft Vivexotic vivarium, they are above my snake but neither seems bothered by possibly being able to smell eachother.
