So far, so good for Bridge. She’s dropped a couple feathers, but not enough yet that screams molt. I dunno. :idunno
She is one of my biggest fatties, so we’ll see how she does long term.
And in case anyone is wondering, her real name is Bridgette. But she has a bunch of nicknames... Bridgey, Bridgley, Bridgel... I mostly just call her Bridge.
Here is Bridge chilling on the lounge chair beside me. She and the pullets think I got the chairs for them. :)
She looks somewhat content, but is flattening her body like a broody a little, which is unusual for her. I’m glad she found a comfy place to relax.
Update: I think Bridge *might* just be heading into molt. She was preening near me and I saw a feather just fall out. She is a slow molter and there aren’t a bunch of feathers around yet, but fingers crossed. Overall today has been a little better than yesterday for her.
Bridge is about the same, maybe slightly better this morning. Voice is still a little off, she doesn’t seem to be eating, and right now she’s just standing there. But when I first let them out, she came out willingly on her own, which is improvement from yesterday morning. She vocalized and...
Bridge is subdued, but they all are today, so it’s hard to tell. She was actually one of the few who was NOT panting today. I saw her eat wet feed and drink pedialyte on her own early in the day. Now that the temperature is dropping, the others are starting to perk up a bit. Bridge is sitting...
Yeah, that’s where I am, too. I’ll let everyone know if anything changes.
On the original note, I received notification that UCD accepted the specimen. Hoping for a prelim this coming week.
She’s drinking the pedialyte on its own! She’s hanging out in one spot so I brought her a little glass bowl of it (my girls love glass bowls for some reason.) Phew! She’s still definitely off, but at least she’s drinking. I’m not worried about food at this point since she’s such a big girl.
Yes, I got that. I spritzed her back end to get a better look without soaking and she has lots of bald area. She’s also a bit pink bloated looking, but she has always been a big heavy girl from the beginning. She is readily drinking egg mixed with pedialyte, so I will hold off on tubing for now...
Maybe my daughter, but she has narcolepsy and went straight to bed. I gave Bridge a few cc of pedialyte via syringe. She didn’t like the handling, but swallowed it. She also readily ate a raw egg. (Kiki, I know... they haven’t been getting treats at all since Margo’s necropsy report.) I’m...
