Yeah, I’m glad too. She’s everyone’s little buddy and the only silkie in my flock. A bit dim, but still has personality. I recently found out she’s a broody bully. Other hens went broody and she would pick on them, lol.
Poor Pumpkin hasn’t been feeling good. She had/has coccidiosis and got hurt by one of the roosters. Good news is, she’s already put on weight after being separated and started on CORID.

Yep! Pumpkin is my only silkie — my first time having silkies — and I absolutely love her. She just sucks at trying to grab the treats out of my hands lol
I really don’t know, honestly. I have a bucket flipped upside-down for my broody’s chicks and they can make it up on the roost by jumping on the bucket first. Pumpkin just might not understand what a roost is yet, idk.
All of my other bantams can get up on the roost just fine, they just prefer...
Another question: do I need to make Pumpkin her own roost? I have mostly standard size and their roost is 2” wide. I do have some other bantams ( BB Red OEGB, Golden Sebright & Mottled Cochin Bantam ) and all but my cochin have taken to roosting on the edges of the unused nesting boxes which are...
I’m thinking about getting a buff silkie pullet from my cousin to give to my niece ( I’ll still be taking care of her. My niece is only 1 & a half, it’s more of an honorary thing ).
But I had a random, dumb thought: do they need to be brushed/groomed regularly?
