Those pickles look delicious. Such a gorgeous part of the country. I watched the documentary "Fire In Paradise" on PBS and it was very scary & intense to me! I'll take Hurricanes since we get advance warnings. Don't know what you grow, but pickled tomatoes are tasty too.
Still pretty high to me at 16' above sea level. Yes, I noticed the snow capped mountains - so beautiful! Home is where my heart & my animals are and I am happy to be left alone. Basically all I need is here. Had some veggies growing before the chickens, but they destroy most everything and I'm...
Here's a way I forgot, but just ate. Inside an avocado - cut the avocado, remove pit, take a thin slice off the rounded part so it will sit right & crack an egg into the hole from which the pit was removed & bake till set. I "stove bake" in a skillet with a lid. I reheat pizza, garlic bread...
I do them all the same. Low because you don't want it to burn or catch fire. Oh I forgot - then strain through a few layers of cheesecloth, coffee filter, paper towel whatever you have.

I thought you might live in almond country. Well, forget almonds & use walnuts - I like walnuts better anyhow! Must be nice, at times, to be out "on the land" away from all things commercial. I know I sure would enjoy it!
If you find a good buy on almonds & have a food processor to whiz them up you can make your own almond flour. Also, Aldi's & Trader Joe's have it reasonably priced if you have those stores. Where I live I find Wal-Mart to be pricey on many items.
I've never met an egg dish I didn't like. I sometimes saute a bunch of veggies up & then make a couple of hollows & plop in the eggs. Like poaching them, but in veggies. So good! I also like to make custards too which are good for meals or snacks since you can make them sweet or savory. Eggs the...
