My pipped Appenzeller egg finally hatched! (Day 23) There was no sign of movement or chirping coming from the last Appenzellar egg, so thinking DIS. Going to give it until tomorrow just in case. Have my not-EHL Sapphire Gem eggs in the hatcher now.

I did not have to assist after all. By the time I rounded up the coconut oil, q tip, got stopped by the kids and made it back downstairs to where the incubator is it had made it out on its own. :) One of the remaining 2 had also externally pipped. So I will be giving the remaining eggs another...

If there is any movement or noise coming from the last 2 that are not pipped, I will give them some more time in the incubator - no plan to assist until there is an external pip. The one that is backward and already externally pipped has zipped about 1/2 an inch, but seems to be having trouble...

Ran to town to pick up my kids school packets (They are out of school for the rest of the school year due to the virus) and 3 weeks worth of groceries (everything I need for 3 weeks except milk which I will get once every week and a half). Came home to find my wax patched egg baby had hatched...

All 3 of my Bielefelders hatched as well as 2 of the Appenzellars! Only 4 left and 2 of those are pipped (one of those pipped is my wax patched egg).

My backward baby just hatched! All 5 Copper Marans are now hatched. All 3 Bielefelders are pipped. And 2 Appenzellar's out of the 6 are pipped (one of them backward as well).

I have been checking it every hour or so. So far it is okay - can still see it moving in there. :)

The one that was zipping on my last post hatched shortly after I posted. Just checked again and I now have 4 chicks plus 4 pipped. One of the ones still pipped is the one that pipped at the wrong end.

No chicks yet this morning, but 4 more pipped and have one unzipping right now! Soon!

Me too! I have 2 more that are pipped and both of them are in the right spot!!

I have a pip! At the wrong end of course. I also have peeping! Finally!!

Day 20.....still waiting on pips. Have not touched the eggs since they went into the hatcher and do not plan to unless they go late. I have more eggs to go into the hatcher on Wednesday/Thursday. Really hoping they get with it here soon! In the meantime, I candled the eggs from my chickens that...

Happy Easter Everyone! All these pics of everyone's chicks are making me very impatient. LOL! Only a couple more days until mine should start hatching (day 19 here). I need to go set up the broody tank in our heated shop bathroom yet.
