I know!
When they first talked about using and being exempted from mask wearing and exempted people with restricted breathing I was going "who is that and in what circumstances" because I'm asthmatic and I can wear my triple-layer mask and operate just fine. If someone is so compromised that...
I'm just getting to the morning's NYT that included the story Karyn quoted. This chart comparing flu and Covid deaths per 100,000 may also be instructive for the Covid deniers here.
Sorry for the miseries but glad to hear you're protected now!
My doctor here tells me they are w-a-y down on ordinary flu and bronchitis infections since people heave been masking up.
Stay well! And I'm sure your confidence will be way up too!
PRECISELY! Which is why the people who make a case based on one outlier incident or rail at medical authorities and researchers for what they are honest enough to say they don't know are behaving like unreasonable brats instead of intelligent responsible adults, in my opinion.
I'm with you, Ruthster! It's nothing short of stunning that any healthcare worker hasn't been vaccinated.
Here in LA they took care of all the healthcare workers, all the hospital staff, all the first responders before anyone else got a shot. I think it was a month or more before anyone...
No kidding! My friend in the Bay Area got her appointment because she teamed up with a friend with some gaming skills who got into the site for her.
Somebody should list what those gaming skills are for the rest of us.
I had an illuminating observation today and learned an interesting thing.
One of the major testing spots in the LA area is very close to my house. I drive by it on a fairly regular basis. A month ago cars were lined up on 3 sides of the block staging to enter the testing area. And then, of...
I've done the same when I'm going from one business to another nearby one. I've also forgotten to take it off from time to time, I suppose because wearing it isn't a particularly big deal.
In any case, how does someone driving with a mask on create a problem for anyone else? Is it really...
My thought, feather, is that everyone who is vaccinated is one less person in the way of those forced to wait and one less source of potential infection while they're still vulnerable.
It flat out sucks that so many will have to continue to wait but it's its own silver lining, if you will...
That's got to have been hard for your relatives and for you. As the mother of a kid who went into Covid ICU units day in and day out to care for patients I well understand the stress.
This has been such a hard year on everyone. But, as you indicate, we're beginning to get some real relief...
That's the $64,000 question that everyone wants the answer to but, so far as I know, they just don't have enough data yet to know. As more people get vaccinated there will be more information on which to form an educated conclusion.
It doesn't exhibit in the same way in kids. Many are asymptomatic. Some are only slightly under the weather. Some get multi system inflammatory disease which can cause lifelong cardiac issues.
Los Angeles is out of vaccine. All their stations have been shut down by the extreme cold and the transportation problems it's created. I don't know that that necessarily includes medical systems like Kaiser and UCLA. But at least the county operations are halted.
I'm back! Yesterday everything felt like it was unrolling in slow motion. I had trouble walking in a straight line. I napped a couple times. Still, I managed my responsibilities.
Last night I got a full night's sleep and I'm much more alert today. Arm's still sore but that's it. I'd do it...
The soreness in my arm settled in after about 20 hours. This morning my stomach feels sorta rocky. I got one decent stretch of sleep last night but then leg cramps started waking me every time I fell back to sleep. Consequently, I'm moving slow today but so far, so not too bad.
I feel safer. Maybe even safe -- full stop. I've been going about my business since the lockdowns started. Haven't had my nails or my hair done. Haven't been in a store that isn't a grocery or a drug store but, short of that, if an errand needed doing, I did it. I did it with my mask and...
So glad to hear it! It's good to think that they're learning, adapting and getting more efficient. There are a LOT of people yet to go!
I'm hoping to discover that our favorite restaurants have been able to hang on.
I feel like the groundhog poking my nose out of the hole to see if it's...
