Good for you!

Black rat snakes are welcome around my property and they are welcome to do their job of rat patrol and snake control as long as I don't see them in, near or around my hen house. I will not share my eggs with a snake. For some reason I have real strong feelings about that. :rant

Hmm. 🤔 How about this? Take the gun down to the pond. Set a while. Fire into the pond. Go tell your wife you shot the snake but it slithered into the pond and you couldn't retrieve the body. Assure her it is dead, though. If it shows up again and she sees it, tell her it is a different snake. 🤣...
