Yes I eat the comb....and not 100% sure what it is made out of....but the bees make it. Unlike Langstroth hives(the classic white stacked box) hives the bees in Topbar hives make their own comb....there is noooo FOUNDATION. And it has been proven that the foundation in langstroth hives that the...

I'm soooo excited to get my packages and install them. Will probably install the bees in nothing more than some jeans and a long sleeve shirt. And of course my hat!

And I got my bees from Hardeeman Apiaries in Georgia.
Yep I actually have two hives....just one put together for pictures. They are topbar hives...that use modified Langstroth frames for the topbars. And also can be fitted with langstroth honey supers on top.
My bees are coming April 5-7

But I'm surrrreeee looking forward to the free honey!

Great hobby!
Went and met with the guy I was getting my hives from...awesome guy and new friend. Got the tour of his Half Acre Farm.....he has ducks...chickens....rabbits...and bees. I love his setup. He said if I would help him with some Raised beds and fencing I could have the two hives for free. I will...
