My mom coughed day and night for 30 years and was choking at night with humidifiers running home and work 24/7 before trying a GF diet to support my dad and we were shocked that her coughing went away. It's interesting how stuff we'd never expect could be related can be a major factor sometimes.
Celiac disease is an obvious one, but it's amazing the impact food can be on all of our systems. Immune and otherwise. We've spent years learning and sorting through that stuff at our house, too. :hugs
Chipdrop is amazing! :)
That's pretty cool that you can compost your kitty litter. What is the brand that makes that? Or is it just wood pellets like you'd get for a pellet stove?
I've wanted a dehydrator for a long time. This may be the year?? Although, I always say that and then don't end up getting one for a lack of space to store it. I need to try the oven dehydrating at some point first maybe. Someone was telling me that they dehydrate everything on cookie sheets...
I'm working on fall planting now and contemplating building another of Ms Biddy's Cattle Panel Coops as a greenhouse (clear panel roof and shelves instead of nest boxes). We're not too far from corn harvesting time and are starting a fall garden here soon.
Anyone else planting for fall and...
I add them to my beds after they've run through the coop or brooder for a bit. They tend to fly away before that. One thing about them is that they take forever to compost, so I tend to put them in places that this doesn't matter.
We signed up for chipdrop and got a load of wood chips and...
Rural King is amazing. I got my water bath canner there with the basket and everything for $35 and they had PCs for $89 when everyone else is near $200 or sold out completely. This beside piles of jars and pickling salt and... well, everything you could need for canning. They're regional...
I wish I could. Sounds like some of the things I had in southern Italy... especially the fresh mozzarella. Yummo! They had more of the sauces and some dark sauces on cold prepped veggies. We lived in the north and northern traditions ... actually every region's traditions... are so unique...
We've never canned it. Hubby puts garlic in olive oil for a bit and we put that on (lightly salted) chopped tomatoes on toasted/grilled bread. We realized though that it's evolved a bit here like most ethnic foods. :)
I got a seed subscription for a few years. I loved it, but it's no longer available. It was $30 for a year if I remember right and I am still planting from that several years later.
