    Thank you all, we still want to wait 1 more week before taking them outside, it suppose to be raining, so after reading your advise, we made another brooder so they wont be as tight in one. Hope this help at least until the rain is gone.

    Got it! Yes we have a 6x5 ft chicken tractor built and no chickens in it. We have a heating lamp, so at two and a half weeks old is ok, for them to be outside in texas??

    We have a 6x5 ft chicken tractor ready, but we were waiting for them to be older to move them out of the garage. Fo you think we need to move them now? We live in Texas is warm still but lots of rain.

    I red that sometimes they try to stablish who is gonna be the boss in the coop, that is why they peck each other and do all that crazy dance. Haha so fun to watch

    I added some broccoli florets hanging from a thread, like little piñatas haha to see if that helps with boredom. They like them. But still pecking 😪

    Often, it seems like they are cleaning their feathers, I checked them and they look good, just growing.

    Hello everyone! Please help me understand why baby chicks peck their own feathers so much. I have 7 chicks in the brooder ( a medium size Rubbermaid tote) they are 2 and 1/2weeks old. They all seem healthy and their feathers are changing a lot now. They are no babies no more 😥
