I would clean it really well and take pics. Depending on how clean it is, I'd be tempted to remove feathers around it, clean it well, push the edges together, and dab a bit of super glue on it to close.
Sedation would not have been necessary. Some vets really make me angry.
You can absolutely debride them yourself. Get some good pictures tomorrow in good lighting of her wounds.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but I would flush/debride and treat with a broad spectrum antibiotic such as Amox/Tylosin/Doxy.
Realistically, acquiring antibiotics will probably take longer than getting her in to see a vet.
When the Covid Crazies hit, antibiotics flew off the shelves with the TP. The only places you can get the good stuff now is online or through a vet.
