@Eggcessive @Wyorp Rock @casportpony This si a tricky situation. The experts will be mor help here then me. I think it is possible to treat it yourself, give her a fighting chance!
If she is doing okay, then clean it and do all the things suggested but go to the avian vet on Thursday. That is what I would do, I am no expert though.
I think you are confusing 2 sprays. There is Blue Kote, which is purple and converse p the wound and any blood so they don't want to pick at it, but you don't want to use that because it dries out the wound. Pick no more tasted bad but is clear.
The wounds look open in the pictures. No scabs, it seems like we are planning on clanging them with deleted iodine and applying antibacterial solutions.
Yes, take her to the vet that knows what she is doing. Don't spend money on a vet who may say, "I don't really know what to do about this but this may work." You want to walk out with a solution not "I hope this works." Use all the tips given here here until Thursday. That is what I would do...
Get an appointment of rThursday, and treat it with Neosporin and rinsing until Thursday. You can do warm compresses too, 3 times a day for 10 minutes each.
Agreed, all of this is kinda of for the mean time. Can you still get into the vet on Thursday? Do all of these thing suggested and get an appointment on Thursday if possible.
Don't ever use hydrogen peroxide! It is very harsh and stings badly. Iodine is fine. Rise them well and give them a good cleaning. Then apply Neosporin or any antibacterial cream.
Don't worry about the Vetrycin, it isn't as good for large wounds anyway. Did you rinse the wounds out at all? You need to rinse them with a homemade saline solution, or a wound cleanser.
Clean with a saline solution, Clohexadine, or any wound cleaner. Rinse them out good. After that, apply Neosporin to the punctures in a think layer. Keep then moist. Do the exact same with the big open wound. They should have Neosporin on them so they don't dry out.
She may need antibiotics,, you can get fishmox antibiotics and use then fro chickens on chewy. Try to take the scabs off and squeeze out any puss and infection. Try a warm compress on the punctures 3 times a day for 10 minutes each. That is what we did with or dogs puncture. @Eggcessive @Wyorp...
