    You can try to clean it off with a wet and soapy paper towel. If he is skittish, it may be easier to wait until he is asleep, and take him off the roost to check it. I wear my headlamp and turn on the red light to pick them up at night or before daylight to give medicines or treatments.

    I would keep an eye on it. If it grows larger, it could be a tumor. I have seen a single fowl pox lesion before, but pox normally includes multiple scabs on the comb, wattles, and face. It is a virus carried by mosquitoes. This could also be a peck wound or small abscess. Is it more grey and raised?
