Thank you! This is very helpful as is your other post. Your exactly right, it only means they were clean at the time that they were tested. I think I'll pursue it though. Then we can legally selling hatching eggs as well if desired.
Thank you again!
Gosh, thats terrible! I'm sorry. This is very helpful. Maybe its more worth it to look into getting tests done at a lab so you have more options? Still, your never going to be able to get every test done, and you never know that your flock is disease free like stated above. Hmm, I'll have to do...
I figured. They can only test for so many diseases, so theres still always a risk. If I do go through with it, I will at least know that we've put our best foot forward to get testing done and become a responsible breeder. Maybe not getting every test under the sun, but its much better than...
Thank you so much for taking the time to type up this post. Its very informative and very helpful. Thank you for putting in that link! Thats exactly the info I needed. :)
I figured a vet would be costly, I wasn't sure if it would cost more than NPIP, so I'm glad I now know my options. After...

It is for NC, so anyone who lives in a different state will likely have a different cost. It does put the process into detail which is very helpful, and makes the whole thing sound much more doable. It also says who to...
Yes, I was just going to bump this thread.
I also read an article saying 100-300$ depending on what your local tester costs. They also said you could become a tester, and that must be what the class is. The article also said that they had to pay 400-600$ to get retested, or something like that...
Me to, thanks for bumping the thread. An article I read said it can cost between 100-300$, but I know testing/pricing/requirements can vary per state. I also know that you have to do some kind of testing/inspection (or something similar) annually. So I'm not sure what it costs to get that done...
I posted a similar thread a while back, but figured I'd open this up highlighting a more specific question. For those of you who may have seen my thread on creating bantam EE's, I am helping a friend create a breeding setup to sell chicks from her flock. Just a small scale business, starting...
