    In part, I had read in other places that over 24% caused harm. I am ok with up to 24% as rule. I've set my bar at 18 -20. I like to read the limits tho.

    16% is based on battery conditions. I won't recommend less than 18% for any stage of backyard chickens.

    Without disrespect, I strongly disagree. 20-22% all their lives is acceptable. Over 22% (24% more specifically) is problematic.

    I should add to always check the mill date. Ideally, buy within one month of milling and use within two more.

    I agree. Twice a day is fine. Free choice all day is better. And easier for you. I recommend all flock/starter their whole life with oyster shell and grit in separate containers, again free choice.
