most of the green egg layers are mutts - there's not a lot of consistency in who does what when, that' I've noted on these forums. I've not owned one myself.
Make sure its got a lid and that its not clear. UV light speeds algae growth, so blocking it will slow things down. You can also chlorinate if you are on well water, but nothing stops it completely (as demonstrated by green, heavily chlorinated, pools)
I use plastic gutters as feeders. great for wet mash. 10' for like $8. Though the end caps (if you need them) and the attachment hooks add a fair price (again, if you need them).

and yes, the Omlets are expensive, and small. Good for grow out, or for quarantine - but then you have to locate it far from the others, and by the time you've built a new run and everything else... Might as well build a coop instead of buying.
I'll hang out, but I really am best in small quantity. Feel free to disinvite me, I won't take it personally.
