We do the same thing. So far, we've only had copperheads and all sorts of "good snakes". What type of ants are you fighting? Did you get netting on your coop yet?

So far, no alerting from my girl, but she's still patrolling. I have a Dobermann from a Euro working line. I've trained her to my preferences and needs. She's a smart girl. Different alert depending on venomous or non with snakes. Copperhead was nearer my 11 in the brooder than my flock of 16...

Copperheads tend to travel about in pairs. There's some netting you can put that wrecks a snake up. It's inexpensive and works very well. I have it in between my predator apron and run walls. I learned about it from TexasPrepper2 on YouTube.
