My 12 year old had been hearing the crowing but he’s a pretty good little bird watcher so I trust his observations, today I heard something that sounded like a stepped on frog, I googled it And apparently a crowing quail sounds sort of like that, good thing he’s practicing!

That and Murphy’s law: we’re trying to establish our flock and at least 4/5 are boys! Glad I ordered a second batch off eggs😉
